This 1865 Dating Profile Is So Wholesome You’ll Most Likely Fall In Love With It

Isn’t Dating in 2022 an absolute chaos?!

The Dating Apps, the pickup lines, the bios, the profile pictures and the list goes on!

And, hey, we get it, it’s not easy to right a good bio for your dating profile.

Or a half decent one, apparently.

But, back in 1865, at least one person had it all figured out. (That is, his dating profile.) Not his love life, because evidently dating has been difficult for him for a long time.)

And, for the record, this photo is of a random dude from 1865, not the person who penned the ad below.

This guy caller, according to a post shared by Twitter user Max Roser, published the following personal ad in 1865, and honestly?! It’s so lovely and pure.

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

“I have a good set of teeth,” he says.

Because health is so essential, this is fantastic news. To be honest, I think he had nicer teeth than I do.

“My buckwheat appears to be excellent, and the oats and potatoes are imposing.”

I mean, who DOESN’T enjoy high-quality buckwheat?

“Along with a house and barn, I have nine sheep, a two-year-old bull, and two heifers.”

“I’d like to buy bread and butter, hoop skirts, and waterfalls for a girl…”

Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want someone who only buys them bread, butter, and hoop skirts? This is the ideal situation!

And then, in a tragic conclusion, he says: “That’s the problem I’m having. But I’m not sure how to go about doing it.”

To be honest, I think things worked out for our buckwheat-obsessed bachelor. He definitely got a few quill-swipe-rights out of it at the very least?!
